Fashion East's menswear initiative (formerly known as MAN) was launched in 2005 by Fashion East as the first support scheme for new menswear design talent. Starting with a place on London's womenswear schedule, by 2009 MAN began London's first menswear day of shows before paving the way for the launch of London Collections Men (AKA London Fashion Week Men's) in 2012. Fashion East is proud to have supported and launched menswear designers and brands including: Kim Jones, JW Anderson, Aitor Throup, Christopher Shannon, James Long, Martine Rose, Matthew Miller, Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen, Craig Green, Bobby Abley , Liam Hodges, Wales Bonner, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY and more. Designer recipients are selected by a panel of industry experts including: Ben Reardon, Creative Consultant, Charlie Porter, Journalist and fashion critic; Gordon Richardson, Creative Consultant; Jack Cassidy, Men's Designerwear & Contemporary Buyer at Selfridges; Luke Day, Editor of GQ Style; Lulu Kennedy Director of Fashion East; Sam Lobban Vice President of Men's Designer and New Concepts at Nordstrom; Tim Blanks Editor-at-Large of Business of Fashion. Fashion East is a non-profit talent incubator established in 2000 by Lulu Kennedy and The Old Truman Brewery to nurture, develop and showcase emerging designers. Fashion East is integral to London's reputation for young talent, having kick-started the careers of some of the UK's top design talent across womenswear and menswear.
